The four-hour process began with the fitting of an "appliance" (industry-speak
for "headpiece."). It was attached to the top of my eyebrows, covered
my whole head and both ears, and went down to my neck. The one problem? I have
too much hair and making all of it fit under the appliance was no easy feat.
After several tries, we discovered that if we made six small pony tails and
pinned them at the nape of my neck, we could make it work. Latex was then applied
to my cheeks and the sides of my neck.
