    Enterprise Episode Synopsis

SEASON ONE

Episode #001-2- Broken Bow- pilot (09/26/01),
directed by LeVar Burton

I worked again with LeVar Burton (Voyager), who had chosen me to be a Talaxian during the final season of Voyager. The fun with this episode was the costume fitting and watching the creation of the new Enterprise uniforms. I was able to take David with me and he got to see it on me before it ever aired on TV, so he was psyched. The day of the shoot, I swear, everything went wrong! First, they could not get my hair just right, and then my costume had one arm shorter than the other and was too big in the back. So, even though I was there earlier than anyone, I ended up in the chair last and it was worth it, because it looked great when it all was fixed.

During the shooting, we were in holding most of the time- usual for all TV and film projects when you are background (i.e. when you have no lines). But then it came time to use us and we were placed in the corridor. We walked behind the principals at one point and towards them at another point. The scene where they are showing the transporter pad to Ensign Mayweather is the one where I walked by, but it was cut.

Episode #003- Fight or Flight- (10/10/01), directed by Allan Kroeker

I was so excited to be called back-- this was my first call after my wedding! I was to be in the mess hall. They were shooting several scenes that day, so I ended up being in a breakfast, lunch and dinner scene. Most notably, I walked behind T’Pol in the food line and picked up a muffin as she talked of the smell of human food. It was fun and there was a lot of blocking to remember. But I nailed it and it was great to play with all the gadgets in the mess hall.

Episode #004- Strange New World- (10/03/01), directed by David Livingston

On the set, this episode is affectionately known as Trip Gets Pregnant. No one can ever remember the real title, as I found out when I tried to figure it out myself. I am only in one scene: Trip walked in and everyone gave him dirty looks, and as he came right past me, I gave him this “I can’t believe you did that?!” look. It was pretty hilarious because at this point in the script, everyone knows he got impregnated by an female alien.

Episode #005- Unexpected- (10/17/01), directed by Mike Vejar
Episode #006- Terra Nova- (10/24/01), directed by LeVar Burton
Episode #007- The Andorian Incident- (10/31/01), directed by Roxann Dawson
Episode #008- Breaking the Ice- (11/07/01), directed by Terry Windell
Episode#009- Civilization- (11/14/01), directed by Mike Vejar
Episode #010- Fortunate Son- (11/21/01), directed by LeVar Burton

Episode #011- Cold Front- (11/28/01), directed by Robert D. McNeill

I worked a very short day. I was called to be on the bridge for the first time and I stood still at one station with my back towards camera. And that was that-- the scene never was shown. But Robert Duncan McNeil (Lt. Paris from Voyager) was directing, so that was cool.

Episode #012- Silent Enemy- (01/16/02), directed by Winrich Kolbe
Episode #013- Dear Doctor- ( 01/23/02), directed by James Cotner
Episode #014- Sleeping Dogs- (01/30/02), directed by Les Landau
Episode #015- Shadows of P’Jem- (02/06/02), directed by Mike Vejar
Episode #016- Shuttlepod One- (02/13/02), directed by David Livingston
Episode #017- Fusion- (02/27/02), directed by Rob Hedden

Episode #018- Rogue Planet- (03/20/02), directed by Allan Kroeker

Just another day in Starfleet corridor-land where I walked up and down until the scene was shot. Too bad, it did not make it to your tube.

Episode #019- Acquisition- (03/27/02), directed by James Whitmore

I got to be dead in the mess hall! And with a salad fork stuck in my hand! I also got to do this for two scenes. In the first scene, an alien (a Ferengi) walked in and started stealing all our stuff. In the next scene, the Ferengi got into a fight with Trip and, well, I got to watch from under my arms, because I was still supposed to be dead. It was interesting to see how the fight was shot with Clint Howard, the actor playing the Ferengi. And no, we did not get to eat the salad, we were dead.

Episode #020- Oasis- (04/03/02), directed by Jim Charleston

Episode #021- Detained- (04/24/02), directed by David Livingston

Well, you can see how glamorous my life is… again I worked on the bridge and no, you could not make me out in the scene. I actually think it was cut, but David swears he recognized my hair.

Episode #022- Vox Sola- (05/01/02), directed by Roxann Dawson

What was cool about this episode was that I got to work with Roxann Dawson. You all know that she was B’Elanna on Voyager and only my favorite character. I got to sit one chair away from Trip and we had a popcorn bowl between us. Phlox was talking behind us, and Trip shushed him and I looked back at Phlox with a glare. Roxann directed me and then the Producer asked me to make it bigger! If you watch this episode, you will see me for a split second or two in that scene. They pan forwards and backwards and I think you see me twice. Yeah.

Episode #023- Fallen Hero- (05/08/02), directed by Patrick Norris

Episode #024- Desert Crossing- (05/08/02), directed by David Straiton

Another corridor scene and it did not make the final cut.

Episode #025- Two Days and Two Nights- (05/15/02), directed by Michael Dorn

Now this was a fun day-well, they are all fun days, but when I get to work, it’s even better. Today, they made us Rizans- a new pleasure planet that they were going to introduce for the first time but which had already been featured in ST: NG and ST: DS9. Some of us were from the planet and had some cool makeup stuff and some of us were Starfleet personnel going on holiday. They made me up, gave me a tan, and then never used me that day. Oh well. But Michael Dorn was the director and I got to see him say "Action!" to the dog.

Episode #026- Shockwave Part One- (05/22/02), directed by Allan Kroeker

The season finale. Yes, I made the final cut. I even had a few friends email me and say they saw me on the show. I was in the mess hall having coffee, sitting with a colleague and looking bummed. We were really upset that we failed the mission, blew up thousands of innocent people, and were being told to come home. Not a good day for Starfleet.

SEASON TWO

Episode #028- Shockwave Part Two- (09/18/02), directed by Allan Kroeker
Episode #027- Carbon Creek- (09/25/02), directed by James Cotner

Episode #029- Minefield- (10/02/02), directed by James Cotner

In this episode, I was in the mess hall having dinner, sitting alone and looking out into space. The next scene, there are many wounded being brought into Sick Bay and I brought someone in who was hanging on my shoulder. You will only see me for a split second as I enter and then I am a blur. We had to act and really make it seem like hundreds were being brought in when there were only 20 of us. Phlox needed someone to look at when he delivered a line and for someone to nod, and he picked me to do that. It’s the kind of stuff you don’t see on camera but what makes working on shows rewarding.

Episode #030- Dead Stop- (10/09/02), directed by Roxann Dawson

THIS was one of my favorite episodes. We were invited to eat on this
alien- automated station and I was sitting on a couch speaking with other crewmen. The leads were speaking in front of me and due to the camera angles, you saw me on camera clearly, for over 15 seconds. YEAH. "You'll see what I mean by clicking here.

Episode #031- A Night in Sickbay- (10/16/02), directed by David Straiton
Episode #032- Marauders- (10/30/02), directed by Mike Vejar
Episode #033- The Seventh- (11/06/02), directed by David Livingston
Episode #034- The Communicator- (11/13/02), directed by James Cotner
Episode #035- Singularity- (11/20/02), directed by Patrick Norris

Episode #036- Vanishing Point- (11/27/02), directed by David Straiton

As I am a regular, you will always find me on the Bridge or in the Mess Hall or not on in a corridor. Today’s episode, I was in the Mess Hall and Hoshi walked in front of me, but no one noticed because she was not there-- she was vanishing slowly every moment and by then she had disappeared. One split second, but a cool scene.

Episode #037- Precious Cargo- (12/11/02), directed by David Livingston

Episode #038- The Catwalk- (12/18/02), directed by Mike Vejar

In this episode, the crew was locked in the catwalk. I was eating rations and playing a game with other crewmen, but you never see me (and I was out of focus). In an earlier scene, I was moving cargo from one side to the other, again out of focus.

Episode #039- Dawn- (01/08/03), directed by Roxann Dawson
Episode #040- Stigma- (02/05/03), directed by David Livingston
Episode #041- Cease Fire- (02/12/03), directed by David Straiton
Episode #042- Future Tense- (02/19/03), directed by James Whitmore Jr
Episode #043- Canamar- (02/26/03), directed by Allan Kroeker

Episode #044- The Crossing- (04/02/03), directed by David Livingston

I got picked to be a featured alien! I was Starfleet crew member who was invaded by this alien wisp. Another crewman and I are looking very puzzled at our utensils and food. The scene started with us and then cut to T’Pol and Phlox. They identified the two of us as the alien-invaded humans, and fetched security. Then they come in and take us away. All you will see is a blurry me in the background as T’Pol leaves to get security and maybe a bit of me as the scene starts. But if you check out this photo, you can see what I looked like exactly.

Episode #045- Judgement- (04/09/03), directed by James L Conway
Episode #046- Horizon- ( 04/16/03), directed by James Cotner
Episode #047- The Breach- (04/23/03), directed by Robert D. McNeill

Episode #048- Cogenitor- (04/30/03), directed by LeVar Burton

I started working on this episode as Starfleet and was put on the bridge for a short but fun scene. On the second day I was shooting in which I was not used, the Asst Directors asked me if I wanted to stand-in for the Guest Star that week. How could I say no? I basically tracked her movements and let her know of blocking changes when she was ready to shoot. LeVar Burton directed again and we had a great rapport. I enjoy his style and he is very supportive of everyone. And at the end of the shoot, he bought everyone ice cream! A class act all the way.

Episode #049- Regeneration- (05/07/03), directed by David Livingston
Episode #050- First Flight- (05/14/03), directed by LeVar Burton
Episode #051- Bounty- (05/14/03), directed by Roxann Dawson

Episode #052- The Expanse- (05/21/03), directed by Alan Kroeker

The season finale. Two years in a row and I made the last episode. If you look behind Archer as he speaks on the Bridge, you will see me. There is one guy with me and we crossed each other while we work on bridge stuff. Playing with lights, and tubes and buttons that glow and make noises-what could be better than this? (Well? Lines!).

SEASON THREE

Episode #053- The Xindi- (09/10/03), directed by Allan Kroeker

Hey, here I am for the season opener. Hoshi was speaking to the MACOs (I don’t want to give anything away) and I cross around them to get coffee and then back to my table to finish dinner. You will at least a part of me crossing back and forth.

Episode #054- Anomaly- (09/17/03), directed by David Straiton
Episode #055- Extinction- (09/24/03), directed by LeVar Burton

Episode #056- Enemy Advances- (10/01/03), directed by Mike Vejar

COOL- my first prosthetic gig on Enterprise. I was some type of reptile in the marketplace in two scenes. In one, I was trying to sell weird-looking flowers to the leads. In the other, I was shopping-- something I am good at multiple dimensions and galaxies. We had a long day and if you to see photos of what I looked like, click here.

Episode #057- Impulse- (10/08/03), directed by David Livingston
Episode #058- Exile- (10/15/03), directed by Roxann Dawson
Episode #059- The Shipment- (10/29/03), directed by David Straiton

Episode #060- Twilight- (11/05/03), directed by Robert D. McNeill

I am only in the movie-night scene in the Mess Hall. I sat in the
second row and we were actually in T'Pol's (Jolene Blalock’s) dream. My
friend, Amina, sits next to her and I sit behind her, but I's out of
the frame. Off camera, we were goofing off, eating the prop popcorn
and getting told not to. Phlox (John Billingsley) and Trip (Connor
Trinnear) sat next to me and we were silly between takes and blamed it
on the prop popcorn. I did not make it on to the final cut, but a fun
day nevertheless.

Episode #061- North Star- (11/12/03), directed by David Straiton
Episode #062- Similitude- (11/19/03), directed by LeVar Burton
Episode #063- Carpernter- (11/26/03), directed by Mike Vejar

Episode #064- Chosen Realm- (01/14/04), directed by Roxann Dawson

In this episode, I was in two scenes. The first is in the Mess Hall. I was sitting at a table near a window eating a salad and awaiting a crewmate. There are three alien visitors, named D'Jamat, Yarrick and Jareb, at a nearby table discussing a secret. Look for me between their conversation. The second scene takes place in the corridor. I was being escorted down the corridor by a female alien with a gun to my back. We were captured and I am in the scene with two other male Starfleet.

Episode #065- Proving Ground- (01/21/04), directed by David Livingston

This was a fun and short Halloween morning! Every Halloween, the cast and crew dress up and have a party, and costume prizes are awarded. Last year, Scott Bakula and the Make-Up and Hair Depts dressed up as the cast of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and they were, hands down, out of this world. This year, the production was a bit behind, probably due to the tragic and untimely loss of 1st A.D. Jerry Fleck, so there was no party. However, one of the guys dressed up as a hooker version of Snow White, called Snow Flake, and I wore my Harry Potter robe over my uniform. During one of the takes, Malcolm (Dominic Keating) and Trip (Connor Trinnear) began to sing the theme from the show. We were all watching from outside the windows of the Mess Hall, pretending to float, and we joined in. It was very funny and, surprisingly, we sang all the words on key.

Episode #066- Stratagem- (02/04/04), directed by Mike Vejar

I am moving up in the world. I finally got to sit at the helm in Ensign Mayweather’s chair. I have my back to the camera and the whole crew is in the situation room studying the problem du jour. Ensign Mayweather (Anthony Montgomery) came over and relieved me of my post and I walk off camera. It is quick, but if you know what the back of my head looks like, you will no doubt recognize me.

Episode #067- Haribinger- (02/11/04), directed by David Livingston

Trip (Connor Trinnear) and Malcolm (Dominic Keating) are in the mess hall. They were having some fun banter at each others’ expense. Trip became defensive when Malcolm suggested that he is getting it on with T’Pol (Jolene Blalock). Malcolm became defensive when Trip brought up the head of the MACO squad (Steven Culp). I just kept eating my dinner between the two of them at a table towards the back.

Episode #068- Doctor's Orders- (02/18/04), directed by Roxann Dawson
Episode #069- Hatchery- 02/25/04), directed by Michael Grossman
Episode #070- Azati Prime- (03/03/04), directed by Allan Kroeker

Episode #071- Damage- (04/21/04), directed by James L. Conway (Second Unit Director- Dan Curry)

I was picked to be a stand in for this episode's second unit shoot and it was a lot of fun. In this particular scene I am the hand that reattached the hose on my space suit. The principal actress falls, her hose for air support becomes detached. She gets up and has difficulty reattaching it, but finally manages to do so before she runs out of air. There is one actress in the space suit doubling for the lead. Then my hand in a tight close up comes in and reattaches the hose as if she had reached way back to do it herself. You wont see my bare hand because it is in a space suit, but when you see the close up, know that it is me.

Episode #072- The Forgotten- (04/28/04), directed by LeVar Burton
Episode #073- E2- (05/05/04), directed by Roxann Dawson

Episode #074- The Council- (05/12/04), directed by David Livingston

Well, this was a quickie. I worked in the corridor. I walked behind the
Captain (Scott Bakula) and Trip (Connor Trinnear). I had a computer pad and I was in a rush, fixing all kinds of systems. Again, if you know what the back of my head looks like, you’re in good shape. The second scene with me in the corridor became a close up with the two stars, and the background was scrapped.

Episode #075- Countdown- (05/19/04), directed by Robert Duncan McNeill

I worked as a Stand in and answered the phones for the crew. It's
always a blast to work with this crew.

Episode #076- Zero Hour- (05/26/04), directed by Allan Kroeker

I worked as a Stand in and answered the phones for the crew. It's
always a blast to work with this crew.

WRAP-UP

These are the episodes I had worked on and the most interesting things I can remember happening each of those days. We had a lot of fun at lunch and between sets. Sometimes we played cards or talked or did our work in the holding area, and sometimes we hung out with the principals and schmoozed. They were all so very nice and approachable and made us feel very welcome. Many times, we worked the whole day and without much downtime, and other times we didn't. Either way, it was a thrill to be on the same set that has been in use since ST: The Next Generation. And to be a part of history, as my David always says, is cool, too.

Now please remember, this information has been brought to you through me because inquiring minds wanted to know, but don’t go selling it to The Enquirer. And don’t sell my photos either, or Paramount will throw me out an airlock.

Thank you for joining me on the Starfleet adventures.

Until next time, live long and prosper!
